Local Threads Collective was born in
the Mumbai suburbs in 2023 with a singular
focus: resisting urban loneliness by bringing
people together.
Through small-scale gatherings
of 10 to 15 people, the community explores
themes ranging from sustainability and personal
finance to quiet "Offline Hours" and shared leisure.
My work with the collective
involves translating that mission into
visual assets. Collaborating
with other facilitators and members,
I design the creatives that populate our
digital platforms and our physical
meetups. I am also taking up a new project with the aim to
redesign the community website. I am currently in the
early UX Research phase for this project.
The work documented in this
record represents the visual identity
of those gatherings and a design practice
rooted in community building,
artistic expression, and meaningful
social discussion.
My Role
Social Media & Print Content, Instagram Reels.
Tools
Canva, Procreate, Affinity, Da Vinci Resolve, Notion, Miro.
Team Members
01 / Instagram Posts
Sequential visual assets I designed to structure our collective narratives and social dialogues into digital frames.
02 / Instagram Reels
Short-format videos shot & edited by me, capturing the authentic energy and intimate pacing of our physical gatherings in the suburbs.
03 / Prints at Gatherings
Tangible prints I created to gently guide participants through the themes of the day.
04 / Laptop Stickers
Stickers designed so our community members can carry a piece of the collective's identity back out into the city.
05 / Website Redesign (Ongoing)
Currently executing the foundational UX research phase for the Local Threads Collective website redesign. Before rebuilding the architecture, I am conducting comparative analyses of parallel collectives and gathering qualitative insights from our community members. This data maps out current friction points and defines the structural needs for the new website.
